Weekly Trash Pick Up
We provide you will a 96 gallon rolling trash collection container that will be dumped by us on a weekly schedule. Container should be in its designated spot and trash should be bagged.

Special Event Waste Pick Up
Awendaw Sanitation Services offers special waste pick up services for any of your indoor and/or outdoor occasions such as concerts, carnivals, festivals, corporate or school events.

Moving Box Pick Up
Have a stack of moving boxes that you need to get rid of? Schedule a moving box service and Awendaw Sanitation Services will pick up and take your boxes to a recycling facility.
Trash Pick Guidelines
Household trash should be bagged and placed in the Awendaw Sanitation provided roll cart. What we cannot collect:
Engine parts.
Hazardous materials such as pesticides, creosote materials (railroad ties), tires, batteries, wet paint, oil, propane/propane tanks and medical waste.
Landscaping materials such as tree stumps.
Construction materials such as bricks, concrete, and other contractor generated debris from construction, demolition, remodeling or landscaping (these materials should be hauled away by your contractor and disposed of properly).
Compact Florescent Lightbulbs (CFLs) - These bulbs may not be disposed of in your garbage or trash due to mercury contamination issues. Although beneficial, CFLs do contain a small amount of mercury, which is hazardous to humans and the environment. Disposing of CFLs correctly is crucial. Charleston County recycles CFL light bulbs, and residents can bring their old CFL light bulbs to one of the eight Convenience Centers located throughout the County that accepts CFLs.
Service Fees
We have worked very hard to assure that we are able to provide an affordable way to assist you with managing your waste and sanitation needs. To establish a weekly pick account with Awendaw Sanitation Company, you will be required to make a one-time payment of $125 rental fee for waste disposal container (roll cart) and first month payment of $35. This will activate your account. The monthly service charge is $35.00 per month.
Our moving box pick service is a flat $50 fee. Fee may be adjusted depending on the number of boxes to be collected.

Who We Are
Awendaw Sanitation Services is a locally-owned and operated business headquartered in Awendaw, South Carolina — a rural community within Charleston County. Although there are two garbage dump locations within driving distance of Awendaw, residents did not have access to a garbage collection service. For years, residents had to load garbage in their personal vehicles, or for elderly residents, wait for a neighbor to assist with taking their garbage to one of those the dump sites.
In 2022, husband and wife, Stacia and Corey Dawson started Awendaw Sanitation Services with the goal of offering curbside waste collection to rural residents of Charleston County who currently rely on remote county garbage dump sites. Awendaw Sanitation Company currently services rural areas of Charleston County including Awendaw, McClellanville, Buckhall, Tibwin, Jamestown, Huger, and Shulerville.
